PHI and the Fibonacci series

Those of you who have read the Da Vinci Code know that Dan Brown sets up puzzles based on PHI and the Fibonacci series. As I mentioned in one of the previous posts on this blog, I liked these puzzles and became interested in them.

Let me tell you a bit about it. I got this cool lot of info from PhiNest.
Leonardo Fibonacci discovered the series which converges on phi. Starting with 0 and 1,each new number in the series is simply the sum of the two before it. It goes like this:
o,1,1,2,3,5,8,13,21,34,55....
The ratio of each number to its predecessor is approximately equal to phi i.e. 1.618.

The formulae given look pretty complicated to me. So maybe I'll try and work it out later. Anyway, I think thats enough of phi and math for today. Have to go and have lunch and after that I'll have a siesta.
